West Precinct Police Station/911 Communications Center
This project received the 1999 AIA Seattle honor award for a "convincingly superior design achievement".

|Ecotope provided a wide range of consulting on the
incorporation of energy efficiency measures into the West Precinct Police
Station in Seattle. This project incorporated high performance glass to
reduce cooling loads. This allowed the mechanical system capacity to be
downsized significantly, leading to both construction and performance cost savings.
Efficient lighting systems further reduced the operating costs of this project. Ecotope also consulted on building envelope details to reduce heat loss through thermal bridging, and helped evaluate a range of other energy efficiency technologies.
