Vice President, Principal of Design and Engineering

Shawn Oram leads business development for Ecotope’s design and engineering team. Since 2002, his work at Ecotope has been focused on energy efficiency and its relationship to building systems design. He has a deep knowledge of buildings, systems and energy use gained through field studies, research, energy audits, code compliance analysis, energy modeling, commissioning, and design of HVAC and plumbing systems.

Shawn has spent half of his career working on market transformation of central heat pump water heating with 100+ central HPWH systems designed to date and has assisted in the creation of guidelines for the Design for OffTM approach to creating low energy buildings. Shawn specializes in transforming existing building into high performance buildings and has won several national technology awards for this work. His specialty is in resource efficient HVAC and plumbing systems for a diverse array of commercial buildings that are constructed under California, Oregon, Washington and Alaska state building codes. Shawn ensures that our team of highly specialized engineers deliver the most cost effective and energy efficient buildings while meeting clients’ budget, project and timeline goals.
